In the beginning of her volunteering it was a liitle emabarrassing for her but then she learned not to care about other people thought og her. Even though she kind of disobeyed her parents, i like the way she stood up for what she wanted. It's as if Emily's mind is switching back and forth between two decisions. Her parents agree and then Emily ends up marrying the assisstant. The assisstant has fallen in love with her and he convinces her parents to let her do what she loves. When her parents get home, its not as easy to keep the job. She decides to sign up as a volunteer nurse at the local hospital, which is the same hospital that the assisstant works at. While the assisstant is caring for her brother, Emily finds that she is interested in being a nurse. Emily has to get the doctor's assisstant to care for her brother. After her parents leave for a trip to Paris, her brother gets extremely sick and she is forced to get a doctor from the hospital downtown but the family doctor is out of town. No it is worse because she has two siblings who are going through the same things she did. She grew up with her parents always gone on trips and it never changed as she got older. ![]() ![]() ![]() Her family is rich and her parents want her to do everything she can to ensure that she is in high staus in the city. Emily is a book about a girl who lives in the late 1800s and early 1900s. ![]()
